Technology bubble (Head & Neck wear)

The inspiration for this theme comes from a Japanese photography style that I liked when I was a child - tokusatsu. I am extremely fascinated by the heroes and monsters inside. There is no doubt that they are the standard heroic themes. This makes me think about why it is heroism, why we need to eliminate monsters, and whether the significance of tokusatsu is only limited to fighting and killing.
In my opinion, special photography reflects human beings' fear of being unable to resist their abilities. The emergence of tokusatsu occurred after World War II and it ran through Japan's bubble economy era. What seems calm on the surface is actually filled with countless panics. "Little Boy", war trauma, advanced electronic technology, nuclear pollution, species mutation. All of these are destroying people physically and mentally, and they are alluded to as monsters in tokusatsu.

All the materials I used in this collection are discarded ones. They are all my previous works and recycled electronic and industrial waste, including: wires, neon tubes, memory cards, tapes, iron wires, etc.
